Official EC Hotel "Luxa" (booked out!)

To make your stay during the European Championship as convienent and comfortable as possible, a cooperation agreement was concluded between EC organisation team and the owner of a local private hotel named "Luxa".

This family-run hotel is near the shopping and pedestrian zone in the city centre of Mannheim. The hotel is located just a 5 min walk to the EC venue. Furthermore due to its central location many restaurants, bars and places of interests are within walking distance.

The hotel  offers easy access to public transport and the A6 motorway. All rooms at the Hotel Luxa feature a desk, satellite TV and free WiFi. There is a shower in the private bathroom. Several nearby parking spots are available for a fee of 7 EUR/day.

The hotel offers different types of rooms for a discounted prize (breakfast excluded):
  • Double Room 60 EUR / night (33 rooms available)
  • Triple Room 80 EUR / night (6 rooms available)
  • Quintiple Room 120 EUR / night (1 room available)
The regular price is 96 EUR / night for a standard double room. If you wish to reserve your hotel room at the reduced price, the booking deadline is 8th of September 2014. Please note that breakfast is excluded from this offer and cost an additional 8 EUR/person a day. If you want to have breakfast, you need to order breakfast at the reception a daybefore.

Reservations (read carefully)

Reservations can be made via email: rezeption@hotel-luxa.de. Please mention my name "Andreas Nusser" in the subject line/message text and tell the reception how many days you are going to stay in Mannheim. The hotel requires an advance payment which can be paid via credit card or wiring money.

Other hotels and youth hostel

There are several dozens hotel chains and private owned hotels in Mannheim. Prices usually range from 50 EUR (low budget) to 200 EUR (high end). Please check out www.hrs.com or www.booking.com

Mannheim also has a youth hostel. However the price is 29,00 EUR / night per person which is more expensive than the official EC hotel. Check out http://mannheim.jugendherberge-bw.de.

Hi Andreas,

the text states "The hotel requires an advance payment which can be paid via credit card or wiring money."

I specifically asked about that in my registration email, but "only" got a confirmation that the room I asked for has been reserved - but no details about any advance payment.

I hope everything is OK here, and will work out, given the previous misunderstandings that apparently happened with the hotel?

Cheers,

Hardy

What is the best place for (affordable) parking when staying in this hotel?

There is a parking garage right behind the hotel in U2. Parking fee is 7 EUR per day. The hotel told me that they do offer the tickets as well. Also you could park on the Neckar banks "Cahn Garnier Ufer". The ticket is 50 Cent per 20 Minutes. But parking is free on holidays and sundays. Since the third is a National holiday and the fifth of october is a sunday, you may as well not to buy a ticket at all. Parking without a ticket is only 10 EUR in Mannheim. So in total you would only pay 10 EUR for three days. But please pay attention to the short parking zone for residents. It's really expensive if you get a ticket there (15 EUR).

I've got the same situation like Hardy, which means I've asked for a reservation and got a confirmation without any advance payment details. I hope it's fine.
Best Regards
